  • Thorpe Woodlands 2019

Thu 28 Mar 2019 Mr. Gray
Our Year 5 and 6 children have returned for their residential visit to Thorpe Woodlands. We had an excellent couple of days challenging ourselves and overcoming fears (as well as eating a few toasted marshmellows!). The Penguins and Wolves will be producing some reports on their time away. If you can't wait that long then have a look at  the updates from the trip and a few of the photos by clicking here
  • Year 5 and 6 RE - Passover

    Fri 22 Mar 2019
Jerry visited today as part of Year 5 and 6’s current RE learning -  Judaism – Worship, Pilgrimage and Sacred Places What is holiness for Jewish people: a  place, a time, an object or something else? Jerry talked about the story of Moses, the seder plate and demonstrated how members of families who follow the Jewish Faith celebrate Passover today. Children tried the horseradish and the matzo bread. The youngest boy in the class had to hunt for the matzo bread, as is traditional during this Jewish Festival. Jerry also talked about links to the Christian festivals of Easter and Christmas.
  • Learning Together

    Fri 22 Mar 2019 Miss O'Neill
Year 4 parents and carers came into school on Thursday for their Learning Together workshop. During a very well attended workshop, the topic of feelings and emotions was explored. The children talked about comfortable and uncomfortable feelings using feely bags, and learned that playground emotions can be expressed in lots of different ways and may not always be what they seem.

  • World Book Day 2019

    Fri 08 Mar 2019 Miss O'Neill
On Thursday, we celebrated World Book Day with a theme day based on the wordless story 'Bee and Me'. Children in some classes wrote the story in their own words, others took on the challenge of writing from different viewpoints. During the day, children planted a selection of bee friendly plants, and some even made bee biscuits - delicious!
