New Play Equipment
Wed 24 Apr 2019When the children returned to school today, they were all very excited to see some big changes to the playground. A new set of PE equipment—including a climbing wall, target practice, tug of war, cross trainers and hobbyhorse —had been installed over the holidays, ready for the start of the new term. In addition, the Caterpillars discovered a new mini trim trail in the Foundation Stage outdoor classroom, complete with wobble -bridge A frame, and stepping blocks. Everyone has been busy getting fitter and stronger, and we look forward to making the most of this new challenge.
A big thank you to Mr Gray and Mrs Pocock for making all of the arrangements for the equipment to be installed, and for designing such an exciting course.

Year 5 and 6 Trumpet Performance
Fri 05 Apr 2019Today children and visitors were treated to a superb performance by our talented instrumentalists in Year 5 and 6, under the direction of peripatetic teacher Mrs Blyth. Children sang and demonstrated how to read music, and how to play the cornet, as well as performing on their instruments. They have reached an impressive level in a very short time, and the Year 6 Play-On group are becoming extremely accomplished musicians
Well played, everyone!

Stay and Play
Fri 05 Apr 2019On Thursday, we were delighted to see lots of reception class parents, grandparents and carers into school for their Stay and Play session. After a short presentation to the adults by Mrs Fielder, everyone took part in a wide range of practical activities designed to help children develop their early writing skills. They developed finger strength and coordination with the play-doh, wrote letters to each other, used chalks to write on the floor, drew large scale maps and drawings and painted with fingers and brushes. What a busy morning!
