  • Sports Day 2019

    Sun 30 Jun 2019 Miss O'Neill
On Friday, the whole school took part in an energetic day full of team games and individual races. During the morning, the children won points for their house team by working together on football skills, balance beam, howler throw and many more activities. After a family picnic lunch, with a delicious 'Pick and Mix' option provided by Sarah and the kitchen team, the individual races began. Running races and obstacle races were followed by relays and the 600m race for our oldest children. Blue team were the eventual overall winners, although the competition was extremely close. Thank you, Mr Gray for organising such an exciting day!
  • Prayer Space Day

    Sun 30 Jun 2019 Miss O'Neill
On Thursday, 27th June, Lesley from Future Vision led class workshops for the whole school based on the theme of the 23rd Psalm - The Lord is my Shepherd. The Year 5 and 6 classrooms were transformed into an oasis of calm, with lots of different activities to enjoy based on reflection and peace. It was even possible to spend the session quietly listening to nature sounds, whilst watching the glitter tubes run through. It was an extremely successful day, and was thoroughly enjoyed by all the classes. Thank you Lesley, Gerry, Norma, Ruth and Rev Caroline.

  • Quadkids Athletics

Thu 06 Jun 2019 Mr. Gray

Well done to the Year 5 and 6 Quadkids Athletics team, who competed against 10 local schools at Thomas Gainsborough School. The team was made up of 5 boys and 5 girls. Each team member had to complete a howler throw, a standing long jump, a 75m sprint and the, dreaded, 600m run.

Everyone did their very best in every event as they tried to earn as many points as possible for their distances and times. There were some astonishingly quick times in the sprints with our athletes either winning or pushing the winners on in each of the heats. The 600m run also showed our team to experts at pacing their running – ensuring that they didn’t race off at the start and saved some energy for a big finish.

The team represented Acton brilliantly and finished 4th overall behind, the winners, St. Joseph’s, Nayland and St. Gregory’s.
